Facts Concerning Betting Systems

No one knows exactly when gambling began, but you can be certain that it did not take long for people to come up with betting systems. The question remains to this day: do they work?

Before one can answer this question, one needs to know something about gambling betting systems in general. There are an endless variety, of course, for every type of game imaginable, but they can be classified roughly into three groups.

The first is called the insurance betting system, and the basic approach here is to play it conservatively, reducing the amounts you wager when you win. While this may seem like an odd gambling strategy, the logic is that you are limiting your losses and allowing you to keep most of the amount you win. If you are a conservative player, this might be worth trying out; being able to walk out of the casino knowing you made a profit can boost your confidence.

In the progressive betting system, players increase the amount they wager when they win. This tactic is commonly used in slot machines, and also among newcomers. The amount that you increase your bets will be commensurate with your bankroll, of course, and this flexibility makes it attractive for a lot of casino gamblers. Although primarily used in slots, this tactic can, and has been utilized in other card games.

Finally, there is what is called the negative progression betting system. Here the concept is to double up your wager as you lose. If you bet $10 and lose, bet $20 and so on. The aim here is to bet enough so that when you win, you will not just recuperate your gambling losses but earn a profit.

Needless to say, this particular gambling strategy is risky, and presumes that you have a large bankroll. Furthermore, some casinos have imposed restrictions regarding the amount that you can lose, which can hamper the effectiveness of this technique. If you've got plenty of money to spare or just plain aggressive, this method will suit your taste. If you are a newbie, it is not advisable.

One other thing needs to be said: no gambling betting system can guarantee that you will beat the house. If there were such a thing as a fool proof system, casinos would have gone out of business a long time ago. But there's nothing wrong with trying them out, as you might find one that actually works for you.
