Negative and Positive Progression Betting Systems

Betting systems may not guarantee you consistent wins. But they can be fun to try. After all, you're still going to lose money one way or the other, so why not give it a shot?

Negative Progression Betting Systems

First, let us warn you about the Martingale system. Don't use it if you don't want to get buried in a casino. This system involves doubling the next bet after a loss to ensure a small profit when you finally win. Thus it is a negative progression system. This is a very risky system to use as, knowing how long losing streaks can go, your bets can increase very fast. Start with a $2 bet and you'll wind up betting over $500 just to break even. And that's if you don't hit the maximum betting limit first.

Positive Progression Betting Systems

Other systems are the opposite: they increase bets after a win. These are known as positive progression systems. This type of system is safer to use because part of what you are risking is money you have won, not your original session bankroll.

Choose a progression series of numbers, say 1-1-2-3-3-6-6. There are other systems there and none is perfect. You might as well devise your own. The point is to find a system of increasing bets after a win in a way you are comfortable with.

Using this system, you bet $1 and win, bet $1 again and win, bet $2 and win, bet $3 (in that case you risk only money you've won) and so on. Anytime you lose, you go back to your 1 unit bet.

Now there will be times when you will lose several 1 unit bets in a row. You risk some of your own money then. But since you increase your bets only when you win, you protect more of your bankroll than with the Martingale. Your session bankroll will last longer, though profits may take longer to come.

Be patient with this betting system. You may call it the Step Up Progression Betting System. It is safer to use than the Martingale.

Card Counting Betting Systems

One other betting system we can recommend is based in card counting and shuffle tracking. It works for blackjack well but you have to be advanced enough in blackjack strategy to use it. When you know the cards left to play are high cards like 10s and aces, bet more. Bet minimum when the deck is starved of high cards. But bet maximum when the deck is low or out of 5 cards. If you can track clumps of cards with shuffle tracking, then you should bet more when you know the dealer will bust or a good card is coming your way.

The only danger with the above system is you will be expelled from the casino if you are caught or suspected of using it. But it does work and in the long run can give you a small edge over the casino.

So if you want to rely on more than just a hunch, try out betting systems. You might get lucky! And as always, quit when you're ahead!
